An Adriatic AdVANture: The Swiss Chapter

Prerequisite reading-
Time to Hit the Road!

Arriving in Switzerland we were so so excited to see our friends Danielle and Damian, and to spend the week together while getting a taste for Switzerland (Spoiler: It's cheesy, chocolatey and very fresh). We were also excited to spend sometime recharging our batteries. We had no big journeys planned, but rather to bask in each other's company 💕

So we arrived in Basel, which fun fact, depending on the exit you take from the terminal building you could find yourself in France, Germany or Switzerland. Very much a 'choose your own adventure' of airports. We did find our Danielle and Damian waiting for us, in Switzerland, with a lovely sign and bell that sure got a workout.

As the days deliciously melted together, this is less of an account and more a highlight reel of our week long yodel in the hills.

One of the more unique border crossings we've done--Swam across the river to Austria!
And who happens to pop up but another favourite, Ellie! Such a delight to have
so many of the precious 'Malaysians' gathered around the same table once more.
Visiting the car-free village of Appenzell where all things traditionally Swiss shine.
Absolutely love wandering grocery stores in different countries. Love even more when culinary stereotypes hold up.
THE CHOCOLATE--Creamy milk chocolate everywhere, anytime.
North America definitely knows their junk food, but the chocolate is garbage.
Out for a wee wonder. Switzerland is hilly, and the winded look was not unique to this jaunt.

St. Gallen- Home to a super old library, lots of murals, and generally a lovely city!

Raclette mid-summer? Only because our hosts were the absolute best!

Between the hard lounging, fresh Swiss air, quality food and primo friendship we were recharged to take up van tripping once more! Italia was calling 'benvenuto'!
Until next time my loves, Tchüss!
